Dear Friend,
Have you been feeling exhausted and unmotivated? Are you experiencing physical discomfort? Do you find yourself unsure about what your next step should be?
If so, you're actually at an important starting point. Acknowledging that something isn't quite right is the first step forward.
All traumas stem from interactions with other people or from the lack of attention you sought from them. Therefore, engaging in relationships with others can help fully release these blockages.
This release occurs on emotional, physical, and mental levels.
Simply understanding what happened on an intellectual level won’t free it from your system. While this awareness is helpful, you must learn to allow various phenomenas to come and go.
For your next step, I recommend finding a therapist nearby who offers one-on-one, face-to-face sessions. Reflect on what would be most beneficial for you—whether it’s talking therapy, somatic therapy, or a combination of both. Aim for 6-8 regular sessions, and based on your progress, you can continue or explore additional therapeutic modalities.
Once you have a solid foundation for understanding some of the roots of your distress, group sessions can be incredibly beneficial. Sharing a healing space with like-minded individuals, all there for the same purpose, allows you to relearn social interactions and rewire your brain.
What’s happening in your daily life is incredibly important. I am certain that you will need to make some changes to your daily routine and lifestyle to support your healing journey.
Here are a few simple yet magical principles for everyone:
Incorporate some time for walking in nature into your days and aim for 2-3 exercise sessions each week.
Establish a smooth morning routine that lays a solid foundation for your day. This could include a breathing exercise, meditation, yoga, gratitude journaling, or enjoying herbal tea to set a positive tone for the day ahead. Stay playful and explore what works best for you ;)
Focus on freshly prepared meals instead of processed foods or leftovers throughout the day.
(Try it out before you judge; you might be surprised by its power!)Prioritize sleep by going to bed before 10 PM and waking up by 6 AM.
Numerous scientific studies highlight that deep sleep between 10 PM and 2 AM is crucial for cellular healing and overall well-being ( including mental health ;) )
I would love to hear about your journey! If you would like to share it, please feel free to email me at vmcranio@gmail.com.
Much Love,
Vivien
